Description

Are you experiencing impaired wound healing, hair or bone loss, frequent illnesses, or infections? Maybe you’re feeling anxious, depressed, tired, or fatigued – if so, you may have a vitamin D deficiency.

Vitamin D Cream combines five ingredients to form a lotion rich in vitamins A and D (and some K2). Studies show that vitamin D is absorbed nearly eight times better topically than orally – making topical vitamin D a perfect, natural way to get the nourishment you need without the taste you don’t want.

  • Contrary to its name, vitamin D is not a vitamin; it’s a pre-hormone that helps regulate many of your body’s hormones. It’s often promoted as “for strong bones,” which is true, but vitamin D is so much more than that! Vitamin D is needed for muscle movement, balancing blood sugar, controlling inflammation, supporting the immune system, and even helping the body absorb calcium.

Unfortunately, vitamin D deficiencies are extremely common these days and stem from environmental toxicity and the lack of sun exposure. While many opt for vitamin D pills, we decided to go another route and created Vitamin D Cream.

Our natural Vitamin D Cream is a cod liver oil base containing vitamins A and D (and some K2). The fat-soluble vitamins are balanced so the body can use them easily and effectively. Many people shy away from the taste of cod liver oil and have difficulty taking it. This cream is a topical solution!

FAQs

Q: Who can safely use Vitamin D Cream?

A: Vitamin D Cream is safe for anyone all ages and stages of life, including while pregnant and breastfeeding. The ingredients in Vitamin D Cream are even safe to use on dogs.

Q: Vitamin D Cream has much lower vitamin D than oral supplements; why?

A: We don’t normally recommend high-dose supplementation because the body can only absorb so much at once. Most conventional supplements are filled with mega-dosed synthetic formulas and are harder to absorb. Contrarily, studies have found topical vitamin D is absorbed best.

Q: Vitamin D Cream has more vitamin A than vitamin D; why is that?

A: The natural source used to make our Vitamin D Cream just so happens to be high in vitamin A as well.

Q: What does Vitamin D Cream smell like?

A: Some people find Vitamin D Cream has no smell, some find it smells strongly of fish, and others find it varies from batch to batch. If you find the smell of Vitamin D Cream unpleasant, you can melt it down and add essential oils to mask the smell. If you add essential oils, we recommend avoiding citrus essential oils to avoid phototoxicity.

Q: How should I apply Vitamin D Cream?

A: Vitamin D Cream can be applied anytime, even before sun exposure. Simply rub 1/2 – 1 teaspoon on the thighs, stomach, or other fat-rich body parts.

Q: How should store Vitamin D Cream?

A: We recommend storing Vitamin D Cream in a cool, dark place. Some people store it in the refrigerator, but it becomes a very firm consistency due to the cold temperature.

Q: I bought Vitamin D Cream, and there are little beads in it; is that normal?

A: Yes. The white beads are stearic acid, a naturally-occurring fatty acid found in several butters and oils. When we make products, we heat them to a certain temperature, blend them, then rapidly cool them. If it cools too slowly or melts in transit and slowly cools again, the stearic acid can form into small to medium white beads. To fix this, you can remelt the product, stir it, and then rapidly cool it in the fridge.

I really wanted to love this product because I love Earthley, but it just isn’t a product I can finish using. The product itself didn’t smell too fishy when I put it on, but once I washed and dried my laundry, my entire family’s clothing smelled strongly of fish, and there was no covering that up. I did email customer care, but I never heard back.

That said, although I can’t finish this product, I will continue to purchase other products from Earthley because I have been satisfied with their other products, and I truly appreciate the alternatives to Big Pharma that Earthley provides.

  2. Jessica Nevin (verified owner)

Nice and creamy. Mild oceanic smell. I wouldn’t even call it “fishy,” truly. It reminds me more of summers in the mountains, on the lake as a kid. And it dissipates after a while. Happy to have the topical alternative!

  3. Megan F (verified owner)

I love this as an easy way to get my vitamin D in. Winters in North Idaho are very dark and seasonal depression is real! I think it smells fine. It does have a slight grainy texture but it smooths nicely on the skin. My kids love to rub it on their belly’s when they see me applying it.

  4. Patti (verified owner)

Just received my second jar of Vitamin D cream. Love the new texture, so much smoother than before. No strong smell. I use it every night. I originally got it as an alternative to vitamin D in pill form, however I believe the vitamin K2 is helping my heavy periods too, who is a HUGE plus!!

Awesome Product! My 14 year old son and I both have keratosis-pilaris. I’ve heard that cod oil is helpful, so I tried this product out. Within two uses, my arms have almost completely cleared. My son has it all over his upper body and his arms look soooo much better in two days! I don’t notice any fishy smell at all.

  6. mrsmouselips (verified owner)

Has it madr a difference – don’t know. Hate pill popping so when I found a cream, which I believe is a better method of absorption, I purchased it. Have not noticed a fishy smell while using or residual on my clothing. Apply every morning to inner thighs. Will purchase again.

  7. Amelia (verified owner)

I’m not sure I notice a difference but I put this on me and my babies every night. I’ve heard people give their new babies vitamin d drops so I’d much rather use this!

  8. Lindsay DeYoung (verified owner)

Honestly, introducing this in the morning and the good night lotion at night has been the single most effective thing to even me out and sleep better all around. I just ordered more of both to start my little one on them too. Still working on my husband 😉

  9. Bryanna (verified owner)

I’ve tried nearly all Earthley products, and really wanted to love this one, but I just can’t. I applied it to my stomach and for 2 days now, despite showering, all I can smell is dead fish. I could not get the smell off hands. My clothing smell like dead fish. This product is a bust, well, unless you like dead fish smell.

  10. Sharon (verified owner)

I like this when I first received this cream. But I guess it went rancid! It smells horrible and it is a sticky mess now. I don’t like put it on anymore because it so sticky! I purchased to have a boost of vitamin D. Didn’t work for me.

  11. Jordan Long

This cream is wonderful for our nightly routine as a family! I love knowing we’re getting extra goodness on days we may miss!

  12. jchudson79

I wanted to love this product but the fish smell is over powering for me. I put it on at night after my shower and could smell it all night long. The next morning that is all I could smell so I took another shower to wash it off and it’s still lingering. Unfortunately I dont think I would purchase this product again and I dont think I can use what I have already purchased. 🙁

  13. Holli Carroll (verified owner)

I love this cream. I used it nightly as part of my routine. I purchased it as a supplement to help strengthen my teeth and I have found it has really worked. I also bought some for my granddaughter who had weak teeth. She chipped a tooth while she was 2 and had a cavity by the time she was three and a half. Her teeth appear to be so much stronger. There has been no more chipped teeth and no cavities. I highly recommend this product. I suggest it to my friends looking for a Vitamin D supplement because it is better than an oral supplement.

  14. Coastie Jana (verified owner)

I love this vitamin D. My children and I all had very low D based on where we live and everything. My son’s was very very low. We applied this daily and rechecked our levels three months later. All of us were up to healthy levels of D. Dr was very pleased too. She took notes on this stuff to recommend to others with d deficiency.

  15. Kalynn Todd (verified owner)

A lot of people comment on the smell, I put it on at night so the light smell is gone in the morning. I can tell a difference in my children after I apply it, or if I miss an application. This is a great product for the price!

  16. Tara (verified owner)

I love this product and the fact that I can put it on my kids cuz sometimes the complain about taking something else! I haven’t had any problems with the smell, yes there is one, but it doesn’t seem to be too fishy or yucky for me.

  17. Jennifer Deane (verified owner)

I wanted to love this cream, but I just didn’t. The texture is great. You only need a little. It has a very mild fishy smell in the container. I even added about 30-40 drops of lemon EO to mask it. It didn’t smell too badly going on. But the smell would stick in our clothes. I would smell it even after several washings. So as much as I would love to use a Vitamin D cream, we probably won’t buy this again.

  18. maria

it smells like a dead fish and smells like fish on your clothing. don’t recommend

  19. Jennifer Madsen (verified owner)

I, like others, don’t like the fishy smell, though I’ll tolerate it on my thighs with pajama bottoms on. Someone needs to faithfully use a certain amount of this daily and also do before and after vitamin D labs, but I did read that vitamin D can be absorbed through the skin, even though the skin converts sunlight to form vitamin D.

  20. Lisa R (verified owner)

On very first opening- Smells & stains but Good healthy ingredients. I’m thinking The awful smell is more of a rancid smell. No one wants to put on and the smell stays on Clothing, pjs. Kids lay Or keep shirt raised to have dry. Takes time. Some items come with dates this one did not. Doesn’t say needs to be refrigerated?
