Description

Are you experiencing impaired wound healing, hair or bone loss, frequent illnesses, or infections? Maybe you’re feeling anxious, depressed, tired, or fatigued – if so, you may have a vitamin D deficiency.

Vitamin D Cream combines five ingredients to form a lotion rich in vitamins A and D (and some K2). Studies show that vitamin D is absorbed nearly eight times better topically than orally – making topical vitamin D a perfect, natural way to get the nourishment you need without the taste you don’t want.

  • Contrary to its name, vitamin D is not a vitamin; it’s a pre-hormone that helps regulate many of your body’s hormones. It’s often promoted as “for strong bones,” which is true, but vitamin D is so much more than that! Vitamin D is needed for muscle movement, balancing blood sugar, controlling inflammation, supporting the immune system, and even helping the body absorb calcium.

Unfortunately, vitamin D deficiencies are extremely common these days and stem from environmental toxicity and the lack of sun exposure. While many opt for vitamin D pills, we decided to go another route and created Vitamin D Cream.

Our natural Vitamin D Cream is a cod liver oil base containing vitamins A and D (and some K2). The fat-soluble vitamins are balanced so the body can use them easily and effectively. Many people shy away from the taste of cod liver oil and have difficulty taking it. This cream is a topical solution!

FAQs

Q: Who can safely use Vitamin D Cream?

A: Vitamin D Cream is safe for anyone all ages and stages of life, including while pregnant and breastfeeding. The ingredients in Vitamin D Cream are even safe to use on dogs.

Q: Vitamin D Cream has much lower vitamin D than oral supplements; why?

A: We don’t normally recommend high-dose supplementation because the body can only absorb so much at once. Most conventional supplements are filled with mega-dosed synthetic formulas and are harder to absorb. Contrarily, studies have found topical vitamin D is absorbed best.

Q: Vitamin D Cream has more vitamin A than vitamin D; why is that?

A: The natural source used to make our Vitamin D Cream just so happens to be high in vitamin A as well.

Q: What does Vitamin D Cream smell like?

A: Some people find Vitamin D Cream has no smell, some find it smells strongly of fish, and others find it varies from batch to batch. If you find the smell of Vitamin D Cream unpleasant, you can melt it down and add essential oils to mask the smell. If you add essential oils, we recommend avoiding citrus essential oils to avoid phototoxicity.

Q: How should I apply Vitamin D Cream?

A: Vitamin D Cream can be applied anytime, even before sun exposure. Simply rub 1/2 – 1 teaspoon on the thighs, stomach, or other fat-rich body parts.

Q: How should store Vitamin D Cream?

A: We recommend storing Vitamin D Cream in a cool, dark place. Some people store it in the refrigerator, but it becomes a very firm consistency due to the cold temperature.

Q: I bought Vitamin D Cream, and there are little beads in it; is that normal?

A: Yes. The white beads are stearic acid, a naturally-occurring fatty acid found in several butters and oils. When we make products, we heat them to a certain temperature, blend them, then rapidly cool them. If it cools too slowly or melts in transit and slowly cools again, the stearic acid can form into small to medium white beads. To fix this, you can remelt the product, stir it, and then rapidly cool it in the fridge.

I LOVE this creme. Have been using it all winter and for my 6 year old too, we haven’t gotten sick once (while everyone else has). I also feel a difference in my energy , after it absorbs.

While I don’t know all about vitamins, I do know that I am SO thankful that I can get these vitamins in a cream and not in pill form!! I just add it to my morning routine!
The consistency is a bit grainy, but if you kind of let it melt a little in your hands before rubbing it in, it goes on more smoothly. There is a little bit of a fish smell when you sniff the product…but I’d rather have that than a fish taste! I did notice that it’s leaving a scent on my jeans, but it’s not fishy, it’s more “earthey”, so, even though I’m running low I JUST added a few drops of an essential oil to see if the scent on my clothes lessens or goes away.
I believe this is a must have for me during these Buffalo winters!

  3. Lilies to Love – Rusti Anderson (verified owner)

We love the Vitamin D Cream! It has a very mild scent to me. My kids that despise most smells have not complain at all. It goes on smoothly and we apply to the tummy.

  4. AmyLaura Duraski (verified owner)

Really, this is a very high quality cream. Love it in a lot of ways, expect one: the smell. I tried it and like other reviewers it stuck to my pants. So I tried it at night and showered it off each morning which seemed to help ( I also always added a little lavender EO to it). But after about a week I’ve washed my sheets and now the whole laundry room smells like dried cod liver oil. I want to figure this cream out but I can’t double wash my clothes and soak them in vinegar every single time I wash them ( I work most of the time and that would literally take up all the time I’m off work). I’m not writing this to complain but mostly to hope there is someone else out there who’s had the same issues and can offer a solution. I’ll probably keep using it but am going to need to figure out a new method.

  5. Kelsey Prichard (verified owner)

I love the vitamin D cream! My children and myself don’t like the taste/texture of cod liver oil so this is perfect. Bonus that it makes our skin super soft. I’m pregnant and use it as a belly butter as well!

  6. Danielle Tate (verified owner)

I want to love this, and I do now, with an adjustment. I like that this rubs in smoothly but the smell is now in my bed, on my pj’s, my jeans, etc. Same with my son.
So…….I gently melted mine (sat it in a very warm water bath) and added 5 drops of lavender essential oil. I chose lavender as it can be used Neat, smells good, and can be used with children.

  7. Hannah (verified owner)

I like the idea and I like earthen products but I can not recommend this one. I’ve tried a vinegar soak and am doing a second one now. The smell stays in your clothes and sadly my favorite pants.

  8. Rebecca S (verified owner)

We just got this about a week ago, and I was presently surprised when we opened it to how little of a smell is has! If you get really close to the container it smells like seaweed to me, but I’m talking your nose in the container. No more trying to figure out how to get my kids to take CLO!

  9. Adina Monet (verified owner)

I use this for myself and my boys. I love the benefits of cod
Liver oil and love that there is a topical application this cream has a very light scent not enough to notice and if you have a strong nose you can always use an essential oil on top of application of your vitamin D cream but to me The scent fades away quick and is definitely not strong smelling. I am happy that my boys are happier using the cream over codliver oil making me one happy mama! I also love all the nutrients inside this cream emu oil and vitamin d are so great for you so I’m happy to see earthley carries this!

  10. Emily Dubois (verified owner)

I really love the idea of this cream and wish had worked out for me. I used it for three days wearing three different pairs of pants, and then I couldn’t wear those pants for weeks without smelling like fish. It stuck in the denim horribly. Is there some other way to use it where it won’t stick in clothes? Or maybe I can take off my pants and use it an hour before my shower? I don’t know, but all my clothes stinking doesn’t work for me. I may try it again in the future but I’m pretty turned off to it right now.

  11. Jessica S (verified owner)

Love this product so far! I didn’t even notice a fishy smell when using it. It is so nice to be able to get some vitamin D without having to take cod liver oil by mouth. I love that it is a topical cream.

  12. Rachel swanson (verified owner)

I love this is a cream as I’ve always been terrible at remembering pills. I don’t feel it has a fishy smell and great I can use it on myself and my 8 month old.

  13. Chris Cowles (verified owner)

Love how it works but not the smell left on my nightshirt. It has definitely eased my body aches since I started using it so I do recommend it for its effectiveness. A gentle caution somewhere on the site or product warning of the odor transference to clothes would be good.

  14. Misti Chuang (verified owner)

I’ve been using this on myself and my toddler and baby for over 2 weeks now. I haven’t noticed any fishy smell at all. It goes on mostly smooth and creamy, but sometimes is a little grainy. I love so easily getting some extra vitamin D and A into our bodies from such a trusted source!

  15. Kamie Boston (verified owner)

Very happy. I don’t even notice a smell. The texture is a bit grainy at first, but warm it between your hands and it smoothes nicely. I was finding it difficult to remember to take Vit D drops, so adding this to my after-shower ritual has worked great! My girls like it after bath time too.

  16. Dana B (verified owner)

Excited for an easy way to give my toddlers some vitamin D. It is a very mild smell and we don’t feel it is “fishy” at all. (Speaking from someone who hates seafood)
The texture is nice and it rubs in easily

  17. Jess C (verified owner)

Just received this and so far so good. It’s a nice texture, a little fishy smelling but not bad. I like this method better than taking it orally so I’m excited about using for me and my little one.

  18. Kayla Smith (verified owner)

This cream is great! It doesn’t have a smell at all. It is great to have a method for getting vitamin d that isn’t a questionable pill or a liquid I have to choke down (or somehow get my kids to choke down)! It’s nice to be able to use this on rainy or cold days when we don’t get out for sunshine!

  19. Beth Rogers (verified owner)

I actually don’t mind the scent much! It is slightly fishy and grassy smelling to me. I put it on my baby’s thighs at night and the scent dissipates very quickly. Much easier than trying to give CLO orally to kiddos.

  20. Faith (verified owner)

Huge miss for me. I love the idea of this, the cream is very nice in texture, but scent is too fishy for me. I put it on at bedtime, so I wouldn’t have to smell it. Then a week later, after I had washed the shirt I wore, started smelling it again. The scent had permeated my shirt, and didn’t wash out. Hopefully they add some EOs to the formula. Lemon would be nice.
