Q: Why is the vitamin C level lower than other supplements?  Don't I need a much higher dose?

Accepted Answer

A: Many store-bought supplements contain a mega-dose of vitamin C (500 - 1000 mg). These supplements are isolated vitamin C and do not have all the benefits of a whole-food supplement like this one. Further, vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin, and your body will excrete the excess. Most of the time, you don't need massive doses of vitamin C (not for daily wellness), although this can change with illness. We think smaller, bioavailable doses are better for overall health.

Q: When should I take the Immune-Aid Vitamin C Powder or the Vita-C tincture?

Accepted Answer

A: You can take either product for supplementing vitamin C in your everyday diet. When needed, Immune-Aid can be taken "to tolerance." Many people have heard of Dr. Suzanne Humphries’ vitamin C protocol. It recommends 5–10 grams per day for a child, broken down into small, frequent doses. This is often referred to as taking vitamin C "to tolerance." When feeling ill, taking Vitamin C “to tolerance” is a common strategy. “To tolerance” means taking more than the regular dose every 4 or so hours backing off once you have loose stools. You know you have reached your ‘tolerance’ when you have to run to the bathroom! Because vitamin C does not get stored in our body, when the body gets what it needs, you eliminate it in your stool – in a quick fashion! So next time, take a bit less than that until you can “tolerate” the response. Then one continues that “to tolerance” amount until they feel the extra support is no longer needed.

Q: How do I take this? Can I mix this with juice or a smoothie?

A: All of our tinctures can be taken sublingually (under the tongue), orally, or in juice, water, smoothies, applesauce, etc. -- except for Digest-Support, which must be taken alone with as little water as possible 20 minutes before a meal. If giving multiples, they can be mixed together in a cup -- except for Digest-Support, which must be taken alone with as little water as possible 20 minutes before a meal. Be sure not to let the dropper touch the mouth as this can cause contamination. When taking yourself, drop from above your mouth under your tongue. When giving to someone else, ask them to open their mouth and lean their head back so you can drop it in.

Q: There is sediment at the bottom of my tincture bottle or discoloration of the dropper; what is it?

Accepted Answer

A: Since our products are made from herbs, sometimes herbal sediment isn’t completely strained. Chances are, if you notice any sediment at the bottom of the bottle or discoloration at the tip of the dropper, it’s from the herbs. As long as the and doesn’t smell rancid, it’s still safe to use.

Q: Plants don't seem 'strong enough' to replace the remedies I'm used to.  Does this really work?

A: Yes! Plants and what is provided in nature are a lot more effective than you may know! There are lots of studies about what they can do in our bodies. Q: I feel I could use some more support; can this be taken with other Earthley products?

Accepted Answer

A: Yes, all Earthley Wellness products are safe to take together, except Digest Support. That should be taken 30 minutes before meals with as little water as possible for best results.

Q: When do products expire? What are the shelf life of your items?

Accepted Answer

A: In order to be FDA compliant, we are no longer able to put a Best By or Expiration Date on our products. We do, however, have our Lot Number on all products, which can be found as a 7-digit number either printed on the label or a sticker placed on the container. This will tell the day the product was finished. An example would be the lot number #2124005. 🟩 The first two numbers will indicate the year it was made. So for the above lot, the first two numbers are 21 and so it was made in the year 2021. 🟩 The next three numbers will indicate the day of the year it was made using the Julian Calendar. So the "240" day of the year would end up being the 12th of August. 🟩 The last two numbers will show the batch number made that day. So "05" would be the 5th batch made that day. 🟩 This would mean that the product was finished on August 12, 2021 and was the 5th product made that day. Shelf Life For Products: Because our products are 100% natural with no artificial preservatives, they do expire. The expiration dates are very loose estimates and products usually last much longer. You can extend the shelf life by keeping your products in the refrigerator, although it is not required. Products are safe to use past the expiration date, as long as they do not smell rancid (oil-based) or have visible mold (this is very rare unless contamination has occurred -- usually from mouth contact on the dropper).
