Description

Are you experiencing impaired wound healing, hair or bone loss, frequent illnesses, or infections? Maybe you’re feeling anxious, depressed, tired, or fatigued – if so, you may have a vitamin D deficiency.

Vitamin D Cream combines five ingredients to form a lotion rich in vitamins A and D (and some K2). Studies show that vitamin D is absorbed nearly eight times better topically than orally – making topical vitamin D a perfect, natural way to get the nourishment you need without the taste you don’t want.

  • Contrary to its name, vitamin D is not a vitamin; it’s a pre-hormone that helps regulate many of your body’s hormones. It’s often promoted as “for strong bones,” which is true, but vitamin D is so much more than that! Vitamin D is needed for muscle movement, balancing blood sugar, controlling inflammation, supporting the immune system, and even helping the body absorb calcium.

Unfortunately, vitamin D deficiencies are extremely common these days and stem from environmental toxicity and the lack of sun exposure. While many opt for vitamin D pills, we decided to go another route and created Vitamin D Cream.

Our natural Vitamin D Cream is a cod liver oil base containing vitamins A and D (and some K2). The fat-soluble vitamins are balanced so the body can use them easily and effectively. Many people shy away from the taste of cod liver oil and have difficulty taking it. This cream is a topical solution!

FAQs

Q: Who can safely use Vitamin D Cream?

A: Vitamin D Cream is safe for anyone all ages and stages of life, including while pregnant and breastfeeding. The ingredients in Vitamin D Cream are even safe to use on dogs.

Q: Vitamin D Cream has much lower vitamin D than oral supplements; why?

A: We don’t normally recommend high-dose supplementation because the body can only absorb so much at once. Most conventional supplements are filled with mega-dosed synthetic formulas and are harder to absorb. Contrarily, studies have found topical vitamin D is absorbed best.

Q: Vitamin D Cream has more vitamin A than vitamin D; why is that?

A: The natural source used to make our Vitamin D Cream just so happens to be high in vitamin A as well.

Q: What does Vitamin D Cream smell like?

A: Some people find Vitamin D Cream has no smell, some find it smells strongly of fish, and others find it varies from batch to batch. If you find the smell of Vitamin D Cream unpleasant, you can melt it down and add essential oils to mask the smell. If you add essential oils, we recommend avoiding citrus essential oils to avoid phototoxicity.

Q: How should I apply Vitamin D Cream?

A: Vitamin D Cream can be applied anytime, even before sun exposure. Simply rub 1/2 – 1 teaspoon on the thighs, stomach, or other fat-rich body parts.

Q: How should store Vitamin D Cream?

A: We recommend storing Vitamin D Cream in a cool, dark place. Some people store it in the refrigerator, but it becomes a very firm consistency due to the cold temperature.

Q: I bought Vitamin D Cream, and there are little beads in it; is that normal?

A: Yes. The white beads are stearic acid, a naturally-occurring fatty acid found in several butters and oils. When we make products, we heat them to a certain temperature, blend them, then rapidly cool them. If it cools too slowly or melts in transit and slowly cools again, the stearic acid can form into small to medium white beads. To fix this, you can remelt the product, stir it, and then rapidly cool it in the fridge.

I love this product it doesn’t smell the way some of the reviews have said. I use it on my newborn and toddler especially when they’re feeling under the weather with the good night lotion and it works great!

  2. Shanna (verified owner)

The stink is strong with this one. I put it on at night and I could still smell it in the morning – on myself and my clothes. Even my fresh sheets had the smell and had to be washed immediately. Rotting fish is not something I can risk smelling like and I will have to find another option and this is going straight into the trash. I’m not sure any amount of essential oil could cover this foul odor given how long it lasts.

  3. Courtney Ashworth (verified owner)

I used this lotion throughout my pregnancy as part of my evening ritual in particular on days I didn’t make it in the sunshine or skipped taking my oral cod liver oil supplement. Now I’m using it on my newborn and I love that it’s a good moisturizer and moment for massaging him while also knowing I’m sending nutrients into his body. Cod liver oil is vital for humans from birth according to Nourishing Traditions (Sally Fallon), and although I take it and am confident he’s receiving it through my breastmilk, this lotion assures me we’re filling any gap.

  4. Miranda (verified owner)

Love earthly, but this one, I did not like at all. I originally got it for myself and my daughter but the smell of the cod liver oil was so potent I smelled like a walking dead fish. Even after washing my hands I could still smell it.

We apologize that you did not enjoy your experience with this product. Some batches are stronger than others. If you want, you can mix in your favorite essential oils to mask the smell, or blend it with our Good Night Lotion to give you an all-in-one lotion. I got this to try during the winter months to keep my vitamin D up with the limited sun exposure. I use it every night before bed and it seems to do the job! I don’t feel nearly as run down as I normally do in the winter. I have not gotten any labs done since I started using this, but just listening to my body it seems to be doing the job!

  6. Leah (verified owner)

We love this stuff and apply it every evening with the goodnight lotion! It is especially important for our winter evening rituals because our bodies need Vitamin D during the least sunny time of year for us. The vitamin d rub is a necessity in our house!

  7. Ashley (verified owner)

My pediatrician recommended we purchase a Vitamin D supplement for my newborn. I came across this lotion on and was hesitant to purchase it because of the reviews saying it did not smell the best. I went for it and tried it out with the plan to put it on his bottom to help mask the smell. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it didn’t smell awful. I can’t say I notice a huge difference but to be fair, I am not sure what I should be looking for.

This is my first time using the vitamin D cream and I am thankful to receive the benefits without needing to take a capsule supplement
Just received it last week looking forward to seeing what it can do for me as I am very low on vitamin D

Absolutely love that I can use this to get my daily vitamin d . I don’t like being out side often so I don’t get as much vitamin d as my body needs . I use it every night since receiving it a few weeks ago. It also makes giving my son his much needed vitamin d easy for me. It’s also a plus that it’s making my stretch marks less visible.

Another daily use in our home, the smell is a bit weird and our container came with a gritty consistency but it eventually rubs in.
