Our Cod Liver Oil is the real deal — pure, virgin cod liver oil, straight from the Arctic Circle (Alaska)! Cod Liver Oil is an oceanic superfood that provides you with Vitamin D, Vitamin A, and omega-3 fatty acids that your body needs!

The fish are line caught, and the livers are flash-frozen so they’re fully preserved until they reach the shore.  Once they do, they’re gently processed with low heat to extract the natural oil with all vitamins intact.  The finished oil has a small amount (less than 2%) of antioxidants added to preserve its goodness.  Available in liquid and soft gels!

Key Ingredients:

  • Cod Liver Oil – supports brain and immune health, rich in Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A and D

Description

Many people do not get enough vitamin D.

Vitamin D while important, however, needs to be balanced with vitamin A for optimal absorption and use in the body.

We also need more omega-3s for brain health and antioxidant power.

What contains all of these things, in nature’s perfect package?  Cod Liver Oil!

We source our cod liver oil direct from the Arctic Circle (Alaska).  The fish are caught in a safe, healthy area and the livers are pressed for oil immediately.  The result is an oil that’s light in color, rich in nutrients, and low in contaminants.

This listing is for an 8-oz. bottle and our new 90-count softgel bottle.

If taking cod liver oil orally isn’t your thing, we also offer our Vitamin D Cream for topical use!

What makes our Cod Oil Liver Oil unique?
Our cod liver oil is produced from fish caught in Alaska.  The livers are cold-pressed to release the oil gently and naturally, without damaging the fragile constituents.  Absolutely no chemical solvents are used in this process.

This oil is minimally processed, with all the natural vitamins and minerals intact and no synthetics added.

The oil should be kept in the fridge.  If you see a little bit of cloudiness, that’s normal!  The fatty acids do this when they become cool.  This is a sign of a full-spectrum, intact oil!

FAQs

Q: Does the daily dose of capsules equal that of the liquid form?

A: 2 capsules is equal to a ½ tsp of the liquid form.

Q: Is the taste strong?

A: We have found it to be a very mild taste and many of our customers are able to easily take it by mouth. If you are worried about taste, we also offer it in capsules.

Q: Will my burps taste like fish?

A: Due to the smell and taste being mild, the chances of it tasting like fish are low, however some may be more sensitive to it. In that case we recommend taking the capsules.

Q: What happens if I forget to refrigerate it?

A: Leaving it out for a bit won’t make it go bad, but it does shorten the shelf life. We suggest refrigerating it as soon as you realize you’ve left it out. If it has only been a few days, the shelf life will remain the same of one year. If it’s been a few months, you will need to check it every so often to make sure it hasn’t gone bad.

Q: Do the capsules need to be refrigerated?

A: No, but it may extend their shelf life if you do.

Q: What is the fogginess you can see within after it's been in the fridge/ is it normal?

A: Cod Liver Oil has naturally occurring fatty acids that cause it to look cloudy when refrigerated.

Q: Can I give this to my dog/pet?

A: Yes!

Q: How long is it good for?

A: 1 year

Q: What are the capsules made out of?

A: Our capsules are made of fish gelatin manufactured in South Korea from Carp sourced from Bangladesh and Tilapia sourced from Vietnam.

Just got my Earthley order and immediately cracked open the Cod Liver Oil. So pleasantly surprised!! It is a very light and palatable fishy taste. You could definitely take it on its own, but I loved another reviewer suggestion of chasing it with another tincture and that’s what I did.

  2. Alina Namolovan (verified owner)

I am giving this oil to my baby with eczema, it helps to clear his skin. Mixed with a little pomegranate juice for a better taste.

  3. Sarah (verified owner)

Mild fishy taste, I use a few sips of kombucha to cut the flavor afterwards and it completely dissapears. I don’t love the dropper, it makes for a mess every time I use it. I prefer to use the normal lid and just pour into a spoon.

  4. Ciara Checketts (verified owner)

It’s not nasty!! The #1 thing you need to know, lol. I mix it with any liquid and it’s not noticeable.

  5. Jackie (verified owner)

After three days of taking it, the fishiness is bearable. I’ve taken this daily for a few weeks, and I’ve gotten the kids to take it a few times, but they would rather the elderberry elixir. I feel good, a cold went through the household and I was able to bare up well. I’ll keep taking it.

  6. Bonita (verified owner)

Easy to take and my little one also takes it easy. I like the dropper. Haven’t noticed a major difference in anything but we like that it’s 3rd party tested. Doesn’t smell fishy.

  7. Miranda

Earthley’s cod liver oil is a family favorite! While it does have a fishy taste, which is to be expected, it’s mild enough that my kids will take it plain. I appreciate the delicate, transparent processing practices and that there are no additional ingredients besides the small amount of antioxidants for freshness- something that is hard to find in CLO!

  8. Ashley Woosley (verified owner)

I love this cod liver oil product! I appreciate the transparency of third-party testing results so I can feel confident that this is a clean product. I take the liquid which has a “fishy” taste, but once swallowed no aftertaste or fishy burps EVER! This is a great product that my daughter & I will continue to take daily!

  9. Kaitlyn

My family loves this. We have been taking the liquid version. We mix it in a greens drink and my 5 year olds drink it with no problems! They love it and get excited for lunch when we take it. I struggle with memory problems and brain fog, and after skipping a couple days of this, I felt like those symptoms came back worse than while taking it. Hopeful with consistent use, it’ll help even more!

We moved to Alaska recently when the sunlight was very minimal. I can tell that we needed to get some vitamin D oil down so start purchasing this in the capsules. I feel like it has really helped especially me and my son’s attitude during the winter time. I was also noticed I need less lotion on my body while I’m taking it because it is extremely healthy for your skin. I do really appreci ate that they have come up with a pill form. The tincture form was difficult to get down my whole family of 6. Our big but my three year old and 7 year old can both take them because they are easy to swallow due to the material they use for the capsule. I really appreciate this product and look forward to continue taking it.

  11. Katelyn Ogle

Easy to use, not as fishy tasting as others!

  12. Karen (verified owner)

I bought this for my family because I trust earthly’s products! My kids ( 3yrs&5 yrs) take it with no problem! Not bad tasting!
I will buy this product again.

  13. Christine Pena-Oquist (verified owner)

I’ve taken some different extra-virgin cod liver oils through the years. Many have added mint or citrus essential oils to make them taste fresher. Which is fine. But Earthley’s does not have any added flavor, but it is probably the freshest, mildest tasting cod liver oil I’ve ever taken. I always set it up to take the sweet-tasting “Nourish Her Naturally” after. But, honestly, I don’t really need to because there is no strong or lingering fish taste after. If you really hate any seafood taste at all, you might still prefer to take the capsules–but this is very fresh oil. It is an excellent marriage of quality and affordability. My only complaint is that, until I’m about 1/2 way thru the bottle, I always get some oil dripping down the side of the bottle after use. I’m not sure why. I try to be careful by not shaking the bottle and using the dropper lid carefully, but I still seem to have to wipe off the outside after each use. All in all, though, I love this product!

I have only been taking the cod liver oil capsules for about three weeks, but I think they are doing a great job. They do not have a fishy taste, nor an after taste at all. Easy to swallow.

  15. Nicole (verified owner)

I appreciate the way this CLO is processed and third party tested, it seems to be quality and the capsules make it easy to take. I did notice the capsules seem to make me burp fish taste compared to taking the liquid, but it’s a tradeoff for the convenience!
