Our Cod Liver Oil is the real deal — pure, virgin cod liver oil, straight from the Arctic Circle (Alaska)! Cod Live Oil is an oceanic superfood that provides you with Vitamin D, Vitamin A, and omega-3 fatty acids that your body needs!

The fish are line caught, and the livers are flash-frozen so they’re fully preserved until they reach the shore.  Once they do, they’re gently processed with low heat to extract the natural oil with all vitamins intact.  The finished oil has a small amount (less than 2%) of antioxidants added to preserve its goodness.  Available in liquid and soft gels!

Key Ingredients:

  • Cod Liver Oil – supports brain and immune health, rich in Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A and D

ABSOLUTELY NO colors, flavors (natural or artificial), preservatives, added sugar, sodium benzoate, citric acid, acetaminophen, ibuprofen, top allergens (corn, soy, nuts, gluten, dairy, fish) or other junk!

Description

Many people do not get enough vitamin D.

Vitamin D while important, however, needs to be balanced with vitamin A for optimal absorption and use in the body.

We also need more omega-3s for brain health and antioxidant power.

What contains all of these things, in nature’s perfect package?  Cod Liver Oil!

We source our cod liver oil direct from the Arctic Circle (Alaska).  The fish are caught in a safe, healthy area and the livers are pressed for oil immediately.  The result is an oil that’s light in color, rich in nutrients, and low in contaminants.

This listing is for an 8-oz. bottle and our new 90-count softgel bottle.

If taking cod liver oil orally isn’t your thing, we also offer our Vitamin D Cream for topical use!

What makes our Cod Oil Liver Oil unique?
Our cod liver oil is produced from fish caught in Alaska.  The livers are cold-pressed to release the oil gently and naturally, without damaging the fragile constituents.  Absolutely no chemical solvents are used in this process.

This oil is minimally processed, with all the natural vitamins and minerals intact and no synthetics added.

The oil should be kept in the fridge.  If you see a little bit of cloudiness, that’s normal!  The fatty acids do this when they become cool.  This is a sign of a full-spectrum, intact oil!

FAQs

Q: Does the daily dose of capsules equal that of the liquid form?

A: 2 capsules is equal to a ½ tsp of the liquid form.

Q: Is the taste strong?

A: We have found it to be a very mild taste and many of our customers are able to easily take it by mouth. If you are worried about taste, we also offer it in capsules.

Q: Will my burps taste like fish?

A: Due to the smell and taste being mild, the chances of it tasting like fish are low, however some may be more sensitive to it. In that case we recommend taking the capsules.

Q: What happens if I forget to refrigerate it?

A: Leaving it out for a bit won’t make it go bad, but it does shorten the shelf life. We suggest refrigerating it as soon as you realize you’ve left it out. If it has only been a few days, the shelf life will remain the same of one year. If it’s been a few months, you will need to check it every so often to make sure it hasn’t gone bad.

Q: Do the capsules need to be refrigerated?

A: No, but it may extend their shelf life if you do.

Q: What is the fogginess you can see within after it's been in the fridge/ is it normal?

A: Cod Liver Oil has naturally occurring fatty acids that cause it to look cloudy when refrigerated.

Q: Can I give this to my dog/pet?

A: Yes!

Q: How long is it good for?

A: 1 year

Q: What are the capsules made out of?

A: Our capsules are made of fish gelatin manufactured in South Korea from Carp sourced from Bangladesh and Tilapia sourced from Vietnam.

I absolutely love the quality. Living in Maine, getting enough Vitamin D during the winter months can be hard and this product makes it so easy to get some extra Vitamin D through a natural source rather than synthetic. Nothing beats it!

I’ve used this while pregnant and love that it’s a high quality cod liver oil with no artificial stuff. The taste is pretty fishy (as can be expected). I add to my greens shot in the mornings and it masks it well. Could probably do juice too. I definitely wouldn’t be able to take it straight especially while pregnant.

  4. Carey (verified owner)

Bought this when I was having issues with dry eyes. It does have a strong taste, but I’ve gotten used to it. Love knowing that I’m taking a quality oil without all of the extra fillers.

  5. Vanesa

I used this while I was pregnant to keep my blood pressure at a healthy level since I was at risk for preeclampsia and I didn’t want to be taking the baby aspirin. This really help with that. I didn’t swell up at all and my blood pressure was amazing my whole pregnancy (with my first 2 kids I had high blood pressure, this was my 3rd baby when I started taking this oil) I would take it on and off. I did about 2 weeks taking it then take 1 week off then repeat and repeat.
The only thing i didn’t like was that it taste disgusting! It was hard to take it at first when I was nauseous so maybe next time I would take the capsules instead.

Love that Earthley has a trustworthy Cod Liver Oil without added preservatives. Also a great affordable option! The 8 oz. bottle does seem to leak all the time and the smell is very very fishy. But taken with some juice, it’s barely noticeable. Great option for my toddler.

Not only are we pleased with the cod liver oil capsules, the dosage, the price and the quality, our nutritionist was really impressed as well. The only drawback for some might be the size. They were quite large but we managed them easily.

I really like this CLO. I don’t really notice much taste and the best part is that my kids will take it in their juice. I used this during pregnancy and am continuing as long a I am breastfeeding.
