Vitamin D Cream

Does this smell great? No. Is that what I’m buying it for? Also no. I love having the topical option for cod liver for myself and kids on days we just don’t want to choke it down. I’m grateful for this product don’t stop making it just because it smells like you know… fish. That’s what’s in it so it’s not like I’m surprised.

I love early products and loved the idea of this one but the smell is so embarrassing. It smells like fish.

Love the idea but the smell is unbearable. Would love if they would come out with one that doesn’t smell like this.

i wanted to love this, but i didn’t realize it has mango in it. i’m allergic to mango so now im dealing with a crazy itchy rash. the smell is also pretty bad.

I was so looking forward to this! Rubbed it on my thighs as directed. A few mins later my husband was gagging!! Awful, awful fish smell. Going straight to the trash 😢

I love it! Worth the way it smells, and I'm glad to see it seems to be made a new way also! Honestly it works so well I wouldn't even care! It even alleviates pain when I put it on certain areas where my bones are arthritic.

This vitamin D cream smells absolutely terrible. I typically don’t mind the smell of fish, but this is bad! I put it on my legs before bed, put long pants on, and can still smell it through the covers when in bed. I love how I feel when using it, but truly can’t get past the smell to continue using it.

Trying to leave a one star but it isn’t working. This smells really bad, has stained our clothes, and made entire loads of laundry smell like fish. I can’t say anything about effectiveness. I do know that since we made the switch to Earthley lotions and tinctures we have caught a new respiratory illness every few weeks. That could just be a coincidence and not an indication that these things are leaving us deficient in vitamins and minerals; there is so many other factors to consider. But the smell and staining alone is enough to make me never buy this lotion again.

I wanted so badly to like this! I thought maybe all the other reviews of it being smelly were people with a sensitive sense of smell. Nope! The smell on this is awful! And it doesn’t wash off easily! I love many earthly products but this is going in the trash. I only used it once and couldn’t handle the horribly strong smell. Unless you want to smell strongly like fish, don’t use this.

I want to like this but the smell is very strong. It smells like you spilled fish oil on yourself. I thought maybe it fades like how tallow smells a little beefy but fades once it’s rubbed in. This does not fade much at all. It is what it is. We won’t buy it again and I can’t recommend it. I am trying to figure out how fast it is absorbed maybe I can put it on an hour before I shower and still get some benefits although I am not sure I can tolerate the smell for that long.

I haven't purchased the item, but would love a fish free option as I'm allergic to fish. Hoping in the future you will be able to create a fish free omega 3 version vitamin d cream

Two years ago my midwife called because my labs showed I was vitamin D deficient as well as barely above the iron level for her to legally be able to deliver my baby. So I bought this cream, used it on and off for 2 years, especially on days where I didn’t get much sun. My midwife just called last week to tell me my labs looked amazing, vitamin D as well as iron (as I just learned those comingle) all thanks to Earthley!! Thanks so much! Couldn’t be happier. I also must say for some this may smell awful for pregnant ladies. But it hasn’t bothered me a bit.

The positives- I love that it’s a natural source of vitamin d that isn’t D3. The negative- THE SMELL. It is absolutely repulsive smelling and does not get less pungent even 12-24 hours after using. Does not soak in well but tends to leave an oily film. I am not sure I’ll finish the container.

Very moisturizing in the dry winter months. I use this at night before bed, I don’t mind the smell. I commend earthly for keeping it natural, not covering up the smell with any chemicals. Increasing vitamin D levels is important to me. Great product. Thank you

This smells disgusting. I’m going to finish it because I paid for it but I don’t know if my clients will be able to smell the stench when I work on their hair. I’m so sad because I was really excited about this cream. And I love everything from Earthley but oh my God this is awful. I smell like a fish. I’d rather take the cod liver oil that I have and burp it up all day than use this 🥲

THIS SMELLS AWFUL! The fish oil smell is consuming. Its so stinky. Regretful purchase. Will not be able to use this. I feel like i dipped my hand in my liquid fish oil supplement. Nasty.

Ordered this a while back then forgot I had it. After refinding, I was excited because the winter months are upon us and my vit D is always low. I wanted to love this but fish smell is too strong. It’s a bummer

I definitely like the concept of how natural the vitamin D form is. But the cod liver oil smell is so strong, I just can’t use it. As a pregnant woman, I honestly would rather try to swallow a pill.

Please read the other reviews as i did not. I live in WA & the winter months are rough. Wanted to give this a try but i literally smell like a dead fish now. It’s horrible. I’m terrified my clothes won’t get the smell out. I’m not sure what i was expecting but this is unusable unless you want to smell like a fish. Which i do not. They could’ve at least tried to mask it with essential oil.

First I was blown away either the moisturizer aspect, the scent isn’t amazing but not awful by any means! I have been using it for myself as well as my two kiddos! I pair it with the goodnight lotion!

We love this for winter months when we aren’t getting a lot of vitamin D. Doesn’t smell bad and soaks in quickly!

This is a staple for my family. I use in myself and my kids. Especially during cold and flu season it gives us an extra boost and a plus it’s topical because I can’t mask the taste of oral cod liver oil. Love this stuff!

Absolutely love this. Although I do smell the fishy smell it’s still bearable, but I have way more energy.

Although I believe it works and is beneficial it is very greasy and smells bad. I have trouble getting my family to use it. I can usually get my kids to use it but my husband refuses due to the greasy feeling and of course he needs it the most out of any of us.

We’ve been using this for my daughter for about 4mo now and we love it. It’s an extra source of vitamin d for her and has a nice light scent (I’ve never noticed any fish scent more of a mango butter scent) and we love that it’s essential oil free! We rub it right into her tummy every night
