A: Vitamin D Cream is safe for anyone all ages and stages of life, including while pregnant and breastfeeding. The ingredients in Vitamin D Cream are even safe to use on dogs.
Q: Vitamin D Cream has much lower vitamin D than oral supplements; why?
A: We don’t normally recommend high-dose supplementation because the body can only absorb so much at once. Most conventional supplements are filled with mega-dosed synthetic formulas and are harder to absorb. Contrarily, studies have found topical vitamin D is absorbed best.
Q: Vitamin D Cream has more vitamin A than vitamin D; why is that?
A: The natural source used to make our Vitamin D Cream just so happens to be high in vitamin A as well.
Q: What does Vitamin D Cream smell like?
A: Some people find Vitamin D Cream has no smell, some find it smells strongly of fish, and others find it varies from batch to batch. If you find the smell of Vitamin D Cream unpleasant, you can melt it down and add essential oils to mask the smell. If you add essential oils, we recommend avoiding citrus essential oils to avoid phototoxicity.
Q: How should I apply Vitamin D Cream?
A: Vitamin D Cream can be applied anytime, even before sun exposure. Simply rub 1/2 – 1 teaspoon on the thighs, stomach, or other fat-rich body parts.
Q: How should store Vitamin D Cream?
A: We recommend storing Vitamin D Cream in a cool, dark place. Some people store it in the refrigerator, but it becomes a very firm consistency due to the cold temperature.
Q: I bought Vitamin D Cream, and there are little beads in it; is that normal?
A: Yes. The white beads are stearic acid, a naturally-occurring fatty acid found in several butters and oils. When we make products, we heat them to a certain temperature, blend them, then rapidly cool them. If it cools too slowly or melts in transit and slowly cools again, the stearic acid can form into small to medium white beads. To fix this, you can remelt the product, stir it, and then rapidly cool it in the fridge.

I bought this product back in September and used it a few times with no issues. Didn’t notice a fishy smell at all. When I opened it today (after but using it for a while) there were white spots in it and after applying it to my skin I noticed an overwhelming fishy smell. I’ve washed my hands several times and it won’t go away. I’m very disappointed because I will now be throwing away almost an entire container of cream. I don’t know what happened to this product. I have several other products that do not cream products that do not have this smell nor have they developed spots in them.

Earthley- you must, must find a better way to deliver the D and K2 without using cod liver oil. My daughter needs it and can’t take drops/pills but the smell is unbearable. Days later on clothes, sheets, everywhere. I washed/dried her pajamas and it was like a rotten fish market coming through the air vents!!!

The trick to this is using on your belly with a belly shirt or no shirt at all. Leave on as long as possible then wipe off. Otherwise it’s very oily. Mine didn’t smell fishy but I won’t risk it on my sheets or bed. I use when cleaning or sitting to relax then wipe off and shower or dress.

I like the cream, I love all my products from Earthley! But be aware that whatever clothes you wear after applying this cream will smell like fish after the wash. It creates a buildup of oils on your clothes. Kind of like running the deep fryer at a fastfood restaurant…the oils sink in and don’t come out! I’m gonna try washing these specific shirts in hot water and dish detergent…I’m hoping that helps! Pee-yew!

I bought this product to try since my husband and kids can’t choke down fish oil. haha… the husband was a no go (He’s not a fan of creams). But the kids (2.5 and 4) love it. This and the good night magnisum cream is apart of our nightly routine. I have used it once on the baby (3 months) with no issue, though I forget to do it consistently. This is the first Earthley product that I haven’t been 100% pleased with. And I hate to be negative because I love this company and every other product I have tried. But, like others have mentioned the odor isn’t pleasant. My other issue is that mine doesn’t spread well on my skin. It’s not creamy like the Good Night Lotion. It leaves little chunks that don’t blend in. Sadly, those issues make me not want to use what is probably a great product.

I’m extremely sensitive to smells and don’t Like fishy smells. I was nervous to try this because of all the reviews saying it smelled. When I opened the jar it didn’t smell fishy at all. I put a pea size amount on my tummy to test and there was no fishy smell. Either on myself or my clothes. It smells like a waxy, oily balm to me, very neutral. No scent at all. Feels really silky on the skin and absorbs fast. I’m impressed and glad I decided to try.
