FAQs

Q: Do I take this daily, or just during my cycle?

A: We recommend taking it 2 – 3 days before your expected period and through the first few days if you experience a lot of cramps or pain.  If cramps are milder, it can be taken as needed (including for ovulation pain).

Q: What if my cycle is irregular and I don’t know when my period will start? When should I start taking it? Will it still be beneficial if I don’t start until my period does?

A: You can start taking this as soon as you are experiencing PMS symptoms (bloating, cramping, night sweats, cravings), even if your period may not start for several days.  Some of these herbs were historically used to bring on menstruation in women who experienced hormonal imbalances.  If you don’t start it until you begin bleeding, it is still beneficial, but may take longer to reduce cramps.

Q: Can this reduce heavy bleeding, or just cramps?

A: Many women do experience lighter bleeding while taking this.  Vitamin K-rich herbs support blood health and normal clotting, which can reduce excessive bleeding.

Q: Can this help with PMS?

A: Yes!  Many women experience a more even mood, fewer cravings, and better sleep while using it.

Q: Can teenagers or tweens use this?

A: Yes!  Girls and young women who are cycling — or are in puberty and may be close — can use this.

Q: Can I take this for headaches or other types of pain?

A: You can!  It may or may not be the right remedy, depending on the underlying reason for the headache.  Check out “A Guide to Headaches” to help you find the right remedy.

Q: Can I take this during labor?

A: Yes!  We don’t recommend it earlier in pregnancy due to the potential of bringing on contractions — but that’s not a concern during labor!  It may help to ease labor pains and make contractions more efficient.

Q: Can this help with pain after a miscarriage?

A: Yes, it can help ease heavy bleeding and physical pain.  We are sorry for your loss!

I have used ease the ache for about 6 months now. It’s something I take several days before my period, and during to alleviate cramping, headaches, mood swings, and a lot of other symptoms. Before that, my symptoms were so debilitating the first and second day, I would have to take medicine. Using ease the ache has changed my life during pms and my period, and now I’m not only able to survive but also thrive through that time! 🙂

Ease the Ache is a fantastic product! Pain Potion is usually my go-to but if I need a little extra something to help with pain, especially for cramps, this is the one I grab! And between those two products the pain is gone!! Highly recommend!

I got my period back at 3 months postpartum and they were so incredibly painful. Much more so than before I had my first baby. (Yes, I was exclusively breastfeeding) I started taking Ease the Ache because I needed something that would help and be safe for breastfeeding. The first month take Ease the Ache my period was shortened from 5/6 days to 3/4 days! I still had cramps but they were no longer debilitating. But the best part was the bleeding was significantly reduced. I mean, SIGNIFICANTLY. I didn’t have to spend the first day in bed or on the couch (pretty much impossible with a baby anyway). I will always make sure to have this on hand before and during periods. Amazing!

My 16yo daughter has had 5-7 day heavy bleeding/clotting and severe cramps with major mood swings and worsening acne for several years. Prior to this, we have tried many homeopathic remedies (inconsistent results), and most recently the product she has been using, Semaine Daily and PMS Relief supplements for about 6 months. She was having slightly shorter periods (5 days) and milder mood swings, but the bleeding, clots, cramping, and acne were still extreme. She switched to Earthley’s Lunamore 6 weeks ago for 4 weeks. She had less blood and clots and her skin is starting by to clear, but worse mood swings and cramping. She is now trying Earthley’s Ease the Ache (2 weeks so far). She hasn’t noticed any differences yet.

We may try both Lunamore and Ease the Ache together, depending on results this month.

I have always struggled with painful periods. I was shocked to find relief from the pain with the Fertili-boost tincture and figured if that worked so well I would give Ease the Ache a try since it is specifically formulated for cramps! With being TTC, it does make it hard not being able to take it a few days leading up to my period due to the risk of potentially being pregnant. I think I lose some of the benefits from not being able to get in my system prior to my period starting, but even with that I have still been able to avoid Advil on my worst cramp days with this tincture (which I never thought was possible!) I have found taking it straight under my tongue is the most effective way to get it to work quickly for me. It doesn’t taste great, but the benefits of not having to use OTC meds is completely worth it to me!

This works! I take about a day or so two before my cycle starts. It has curved my cramps and helps with bloating. I will always have this on hand!!! The taste is kinda yuck but not so bad I can’t stand it. You can always add to a tea or water. Just try it – it works!!!

  7. fletchma92 (verified owner)

This stuff is AMAZING! I never had really bad cramps until after my second child and then they became nearly unbearable. This tincture works quickly and effectively. I was able to enjoy my vacation!

Love this product, I get really bad cramps and this definitely works well and fast. I always have it on hand.

  10. AP (verified owner)

This has helped my pain before and during a period greatly! I have intense, frequent and longer periods than the average and this along with Lunamore have made big improvements in my symptoms.

  11. Maggie Arehart (verified owner)

I tried this stuff for the first time because I have absolutely horrible periods. While it is definitely not a six all it for sure makes a big improvement! I was definitely not as much in pain and swollen and sore like I usually a.m. and I did not have to take any over-the-counter pain relievers. The taste of the alcohol version is absolutely horrible so I will definitely be getting the non-alcohol version next time.

  12. Amber (verified owner)

I have been very impressed with how well Ease the Ache works. The months that I am consistent in taking it I am so amazed at how much less heavy my periods are and even how many days I bleed and how intense the cramps are. I plan to keep taking it.

  13. Alyssa (verified owner)

This helps my cramps, bloating, and mood swings tremendously! For reference- I get light to medium cramps and slight bloating.

  14. Haley (verified owner)

I’m surprised how well this works. My period usually lasts about 7-8 days, and it only lasted 5 days this time. It worked almost instantly. I also normally have a very heavy period with blood clots, and I barely had any this time. You just have to be sure to put 20 drops in each time… I’m glad I found a better alternative to Ibuprofen.

  15. Sarah (verified owner)

I get migraines whenever there is a significant shift in my hormones. Leading up to my period, in early pregnancy and while weaning from breastfeeding. I used to take acetaminophen to help when migraines happened, but I wanted to avoid them happening in the first place. So far I have only used Ease the Ache during weaning but it’s working! I was having migraines daily for a week when my baby stopped nursing over night (12 hours without nursing) and the day I started the tincture my migraines stopped. This will be my go to preventative approach leading up to my period. Ow I just need to find something to help with hormonal headaches while pregnant!

  16. Megan (verified owner)

This is the first I have tried using this product. I can’t tell you the last time I had a period and did not take some sort of ibuprofen.. in fact I think the answer is never. I always have terrible cramps and need a heating pad. This is the first period I haven’t taken any advil/ibuprofen, I only used Ease the Ache and I’m amazed. No heating pad either. I did feel slight cramps, but nothing compared to what I normally have. I usually can’t make it through the day without advil. I am so thankful I found this product!

  17. Dominique Hunt

I’m just gonna assume everyone in the reviews has light cramps thinking they have bad cramps just bc it hurts. I’m sure it work for ppl with light cramps but for those of us with severe cramps this doesn’t really work that well. The other products they have are great but this one is a hit or miss and for me it’s a miss. Didn’t work I’ve been taking it for 2 days no other pain pills and I wanna cry and kms. I wanted to test this right but no I’m sorry this one doesn’t work for those with serve cramps I’m gonna stick to my naproxen.

This has really helped the ladies in our house with cramps and heavy flow!! Recommend highly!

  19. Alyssa Smith (verified owner)

Cannot say enough good of this product. My cycle cramps get so unbearable at times and it takes just minutes for this tincture to kick in and soothe. The flavor is yummy too!

  20. Morgan (verified owner)

Let me start off by saying that this stuff does not taste great… at all…. HOWEVER, it has truthfully saved my cramps and overall well being during my cycle. I take this a few days before my cycle and once I am in it, its significantly less painful than when I don’t take it. When I don’t take it, there is a clear and painful difference. I also have horrific periods… I am nauseous, throw up, and I also get hormonal headaches. THANK YOU EARTHLY! You changed my life, seriously!
